Good evening,
Does anyone use Pela oil change pump? http://www.wholesalemarine.com/p/PEL-PL-14K/
I am thinking about purchasing this 15 qt capacity pump but wanted to see whether anyone of you might have any first hand experience using these pumps.
Regards,
yhc

Re: Pela Oil change pump
I have never tried the vacuum model you are looking at. Check this link, this is what I use and I am very happy with it. I connect it to my jump pack for convenience. I like simply being able to reverse the pump and put the waste oil in the empty containers from the new oil.

Re: Pela Oil change pump
I use an OilxChanger pump and it works very well, will drain the engine in maybe 2 minutes. I put the waste oil into a 5 gallon fuel jug.
This pump sold by Northern Tool for $50 looks surprisingly similar to what I paid $100 for, except mine is 12v. Hmmmm......

Re: Pela Oil change pump
I have been using a Pela 650 pump for about 6 years. Best oil changed method I have ever used. Mine is the 6.8 qt model. I would find anything bigger too heavy when full and too big to manipulate in the engine room. (Price of being an old guy)
Big one though offers advantage of maybe emptying engine and not have to dump into another container

Re: Pela Oil change pump
Thank you all for your feedback. I did end up purchasing a Pela pump w/ 15 qt capacity from a local dealer and it worked out perfectly.
