Electrical Panel Parts

Post by RustyTank »

Working some little "nit" items on my 2004 28TE...

Any ne know who the original manufacturer is for the 12vDC and 115vAC electrical panels might be? I'm getting ready to tear into them to look at replacing the LEDs for backlighting and inticator lights. They seem "simmilar" to some of the BlueSea systems... but not exactly...

I'm pulling out my helm pannel this weekend. I'll take a look and see if there's any OEM info on the pannel. It very well may have been assembled by Albin out of Bluesea parts.

My panels have www.americanmarine.us printed on the lower right corner. Pretty much all of them do, 12V, 120V, helm and wiper switches. I can't find that website or anything like it that make panels. I can post a photo of mine if you think that may help.

Did some more digging this afternoon... pulled off the 12v/120v main panel....

They are manufactured by "Seaward" still in business, with service centers in many states.

I'll call Monday to see if they sell parts or if I have to send in the panel to have it worked.

Confirmed with SEAWARD that those are their pannels in my 2004 28TE

Drawings and photo's attached. New LEDs can be soldered in place if the circuit boards are not burnt... if they are... SEAWARD can re-build the cards for you ... don't know what the charge would be.

The POC at SEAWARD is:
Dennis Igarashi
Panel Department
(562)699-7997 x.210

Very responsive guy - worked my issue by email dennisi--AT--seawardproducts.com ( remove the --AT-- and replace with @ )
I should have the tech specs for the LEDs tomorrow

Well, as promised I pulled the main helm pannel off this weekend. On my 1997 28TE the pannels are marked as being made by Bass of Salem, MA. A quick web search reveled:

It would appear that Albin used a few different sources for parts over the years - big surprise! :)
