Transmission zincs--2002 28te

Post by sail410 »

I have a 2002 28te with a ZF transmission. Are there zincs to replace on the transmission? I can't seem to find anything on the topic. Thanks in advance.

Only the tranny cooler, not the tranny case. No contact with salt water = no zinc.

The spot for a zinc on the transmission cooler has most likely been pirated for the water cooling tube that runs to your dripless shaft seal. This is often the price for eliminating a typical shaft stuffing box. This is the case on my ZF and cooler.

Hey Kevin, you've added another thing to the "stuff I learned on AOG" list! Thanks!
