VHF antenna cabling

Post by RustyTank »

28TE with VHF in the dash and a stereo mounted in the cabin in the top of the starboard locker...

FM Stereo receives signals great, AM signals not so much. It has antenna cable leading off into the starboard cableway that passes aft through the head.

VHF in dash, cable leads off aft as well from the dash... suspect there is an AM/FM - VHF splitter somewhere between the radios and the antenna...

Any one stumbled over where Albin installed it?

My 2000 28TE was not equipped with one. I added one. Prior to that the stereo was antenna-less

Since you mentioned it is aft of the dash - did you check this panel?

I found a splitter in the head behind the mirror on my '03 flush deck. One side is the tv antenna and I'm guessing that the other is the FM radio connection. The TV antenna was installed by the dealer and not the factory so it may be unique to my boat but at least it's a place to search.

That's where I installed my splitter. I figured he checked that and it was not there and was running aft from that area..

Thanks... the panels aft of the windows were next on my list to pull... I'll report back after this weekend.
