first shakedown of 2010

Will be saturday morning as near to first light as practical (maybe 6:30?). Will make the run...ok crawl, from Portland, Ct to Mystic. Should take us 6 1/2 hours or so.
They are predicting a NW breeze but we should get some protection form the coastiline so it shoould be a decent ride once we get thru the Saybrook jetty and turn E.
I'm thinking bloody marys at 9 am is in order. Somewhere between Haddam and Essex perhaps.

It went pretty good. No mechanical problems, river ride was great but lots of flotsam some big enough to be sinkers. LI Sound was very sloppy. Only 2 to 3 footers but the 30+ knot gusts kept the boat leaned over quite often. It was one of those trips.
But nothing a few minutes in the home slip couldn't cure.
As predicted I was right on the money, 6 1/2 hours dock to dock.
