Every time I take on fuel I struggle with blow back of fuel and must keep stopping and waiting for the fuel to settle down before going on. I have cleaned out the air vent and even had a mechanic crawl in there to check it and found no problem.
Any help?

Re: fueling
My 28TE would spit fuel out the vents or the filler pipe. It could take half an hour to pump 25 gallons...until my mechanic raised the vent hoses on both port and starboard side. Left to their own, they sort of collapse, bend, and the vent function is lost. It's not a difficult fix and so far it is working like a charm. Good luck.

Re: fueling
On the Albin 36 there is not a lot of room to track down the hoses for both fuel tanks ( I assume that is your configuration). It is important that the hoses be level as fuel can splash into the hose and settle in a low spot to make an air "seal" and prevent venting of air. Try to make a flat shot out to the vent and not let it dip down.
Also, check that the boat waxer did not pack the vent outlet with a gob of wax compound.
I agree that if it does not vent it can take forever to take on fuel.

Re: fueling
Yes classic signs of a clogged vent. Open fuel fill cap and blow air thru the vent from outside. You can use a dinghy foot pump..If you hear air entering the tank you know it's clear...if not it's clogged
