Portholes
This is a warning to anyone attempting a re-bedding of the forward most portholes on the 28 TE. I tried the other day to re-bed my port forward porthole due to leaks and ran into all kinds of trouble. It is a stainless Bowmar porthole mounted on a compound curve, the porthole frame is straight. I mounted it and couldn't get the window closed on the forward end. I adjusted the screws for about an hour in every possible way to try to even out the gap. Finally I gave up and pulled it out. After cleaning up the 4200, I attempted it again with the same results. As rain was forecast in the near future, I just filled the window gap with black silicone. Has anyone done this successfully?
