Sunk in the Ice
This photo appeared just now in the BoatUS e-magazine. It must be from a previous year. I haven't seen it before and I thought it might provide a cautionary tale. Anyone know more about what, where, when?

Re: Sunk in the Ice
I've read too many bad stories about clogged scuppers, dead batteries, no bilge pumps, etc.
Sinking at the dock has to be a boat owners second worst nightmare. Watching Mariner's video of his previous boat on fire is number one.

Re: Sunk in the Ice
When I come down to Mahalo I am oh so grateful to see her flags high above the water. After leaving her afloat the full winter last year, although ice was relatively light, the anxiety of the winter winds, rains, snows and storms, possible sinkings or break offs of dock lines or stringers can be a bit overwhelming.
It was a sad day on Tuesday pulling up onto the lift to dry dock but I do know I will sleep a little better this winter.
