Well, three weeks of the boat yard sanding and prepping and priming and deciding to paint it over because the finish did not come out quite good enough for them "Antoinette" is back in the water.
They did a fantastic job, hull is like looking into a mirror, I am very pleased with the job they did. I'm posting the pics one more time. The Boat Yard, in Alameda did the work.
BTW.. one thing I advise you all to check if you do not already. The six screws that hold the chrome cover plate down on the exhaust outlet should be checked, although mine looked good, no rust on the out side, the inside were rusting away, the forward one broke of while under way doing about 16 knots and the plate bent back into a “L” shape. I did not notice it until my bilge pumps went on! I was in the middle of San Francisco Bay by Alcatraz when this happened. I was able to limp along a little over idle to get back to Alameda where I keep the boat without taking on allot of water. Had the old heart beating there for a while, let me tell you!!!

about the exhaust cover plate, when it came loose it allowed water directly into the hull?
as a new 28te owner i thought that plate a cosmetic cover not the thru hull seal.

Understand your point, but I was definitely taking on water when I was going over a certain speed. When I slowed down my rear bilge pump would not come on.
Because it bent back I'll assume the pressure on the plate may have loosened and pulled away the through hull seal at higher speeds. Everything has been resealed and it is not leaking anymore.
