I've been afraid to make an "announcement" before this because I was a little afraid that somehow if I did I would jinx the deal, but now it's official.......We've just closed on a 1997 31 TE, and we're very excited about it! The boat is in Florida, and will be shipped over the road next week to Sassafras River in Maryland. We went to Florida to sea trial it and have it surveyed...what a lovely boat, and in terrific condition; it has obviously been very well cared for. I will post a picture as soon as I figure out how.
I joined about a month ago and have been lurking ever since, and I can see that this is a very helpful and friendly group of people, which is wonderful..to have such a resource is wonderful!
So now my questions begin.......first off, we need to get electronic charts for the Chesapeake Bay. I suspect that I should post that question in the electronics forum in order to get the most help.

Re: New (to us) 31 TE!!
Congratulations on the deal going through! The Sassafras is a beautiful river. We are planning a few days on the river in the next couple of weeks. We also do a Fall cruise there every year. As a new owner you will hear the comment "now, that's a real boat" more than once.

Thanks, Zinbaad and John, for the welcome......yes, I'm sure we'll get comments about it being a "real boat"! And it's in beautiful condition.
Can't wait to get out on it! "Maybe" next Saturday!

Re: New (to us) 31 TE!!
We had our first outing on Sunday...what a thrill! This boat "gets up and goes"! It cruises quite happily at 22mph. I'm used to "trawlering" along at about eight mph with my sister, so I'll have to gets used to the power and speed. It's a wonderful boat......we're delighted! I know I'll have many questions for all of you as we go along; it's wonderful having this resource!.
We're very much looking forward to anchoring out; can't do that until Labor Day weekend, but will decide on where to go (it's still at Sassafras Harbor Marina, where we had it delivered and the radar arch put back together, but will ultimately be tied up on Kent Island). Many adventures ahead for us!
