28TE Fuel Gauge

Post by joe.baar »

My electrician neighbor visited last Sunday and fixed the fuel gauge on the dash in less than 5 minutes. It's a VDO gauge connected to a switch at the inaccessible upper end of the dash panel. One of the wires leading to the switch had an incomplete crimp on the female connector. George replaced the connector and Voila. The dash gauge reads about 1/16th tank (say, 10 gallons) lower than the gauge on the tank itself, which is a Good Thing.

As Ric Murray always says, Assume Nothing.

Something to check. I have been having a similar problem. Thought it may be the sending unit in the tank, but I'll check this first. Thank you!!! :)
