Queenstown

Any Chesapeake Bay'rs been to Queenstown recently? Was there the past two years and made it thru the narrow channel without any problems. Yesterday however ran aground in between the two green bouys in my 35 Command Bridge. Went from six feet to three feet very quickly. Any suggestions for next time or avoid Queenstown?

Hi Steve,
Haven't been there this season but I've noticed that all of our usual cruising areas are lower this year. Tides seem lower than normal. For example, I have been following the same route into the Gunpowder River for more than 15 years. This year, for the first time, I ran aground there. The entrance to Middle River has been around 10'. This year I'm seeing 8'. The entrance to Dundee Creek has always been 4'. Again, this year my alarm is going off at 3.5 and I just turned around. I don't know how some of the boats from that marina are getting out.
