hello every one , my name is bob and i am a new member of the a.o.g . I live in Schiller park IL . just west of Chicago . I have a 2005 , 26 ft bayliner cuddy cabin which i have trailered to the Florida keys during the winter for the last 4 yrs . in the summer i have trailered it to lakes and rivers in Illinois , Wisconsin , Michigan ,Kentucky ,Missouri , and last summer i trailered it to buffalo new York and ran the Erie canal from there east to brewerton on Oneida lake . this year i am going to start in brewton and go east and do the rest of the canal .now that i am retired i want to extend my cruising range and move up to a bigger boat . my plan is to spend the winter in the Fla keys with side trips to the Bahamas and down to key west and a run out to fort Jefferson in the dry Tortuga's. the wife and i do not need a lot of Fancy stuff to be conferable, just the average necessities . I like the 28 te , just big enough for 2 people . but easy to handle buy 2 . looking forward to reading from owners .

Impressive journeys you have completed there. The 28TE will certainly allow you to "extend your cruising range" safely, comfortably and economically over the water but trailering will be a bit more of an under-taking than the Bayliner. However, it appears that the 28TE will have FL as a permanent home? and keep the Bayliner for trailering to different sites?

Welcome to AOG. There are great advantages to having a trailer boat. So many places around the country to launch. But, moving up to the Albin will be a great advantage as well. You'll be able to handle just about any conditions.

thank you for your reply . trailering will not be a problem , for 30 yrs i moved over size , over weight , to tall , to wide ,to everything over the road , so trailing is not a problem . that is the one great thing about trailering a boat , it opens up so many more possibilities . it all depends on the person and what type of boating they like ,there is one thing for sure , no matter what type of boating you like , it is all great .

I've always liked the idea of having a 28' TE set up on a good, self loading trailer behind a heavy duty towing rig. It certainly would not be for the average Joe. But for someone who has experience hauling large loads behind big rigs, it would be a great set up... so long as you can afford your own fuel refinery!
