Re: Arm Rests for passenger seat
Are they gone or do they just need to be recovered?

the wood rotted out. The vinal and the padding is still in good condition. I removed the staples and will replace the wood with some type of plastic. I was just hoping there was something out there.

Re: Arm Rests for passenger seat
3 out of the 4 armrests broke on mine. Upon taking them apart I found the wood inside to be 1/2 ply and it was soaked. I wanted to do something in plastic like you said but remeber you need to be able to put staples back. I made replacement wood pieces out of pressure treated wood. I should be able to stand up to water and is stronger that the ply it replaced.
Also, make sure you buy Monel staples http://www.acehardware.com/product/inde ... 0&cid=PPC: the regular stainless ones will not last.
I also put on a backdrop curtain last year lets hope that keeps the rain out...
Good luck
