Whate are most of you using- 2 -6volt deep cycle batteries in series or 1- 12 volt deep cycle (for house power etc)

Good morning,
I have 3.
2-12 volt for starting and 1-12 volt for house. Peninsular recommends 2 batteries for starting.

I have 2- 12 volt for the house and 1- 4D (12V) for the start.

My boat (2003 28 TE) came with 2 4D on an A-B-Both-Off switch. Battery #1 was showing signs of weakening. I replaced it with 2 6V AGM deep cycles in series. Same price, easier to handle, and more cranking amps.

I replaced the 4D and 8D with a set of golf cart batteries. (4 6volt batteries in two 12 series banks)

Anchoring out we can't seem to get them below 12.4 after a night of lights and tv going til 10pm and
the fridge running!

I saved the 8D and added a box for it and use it for starting the Cummins.
