I had a 1986 Albin 27AC also. Owned it from new early 86 till early 2000. I had it poered by the Westerbeke W100 & also had a Hurth tranny.
I have no idea if it is the same as installed on yours but the only problems with it in all those years was worn/broken clutch springs. I often had problems in the first few weeks after a long layup period when the thing would not go into reverse. Very exciting when approaching a dock.
Seems to me the model & serial # were on a plate somewhere on the tranny. Most likely painted over. Get a mirror & look all around it.
Check the Yahoo Albin group. What those guys do not collectively know about 25s & 27s is not known even by God.

OH BOY
Chuck711,
I just blew the Hurth in my 1988 27 FC 157 isuzu. MACK BORING could not find parts to rebuild it. Just installed today is a ZF-63A. $2200 for the trans, another $500 related parts, plus labor $??. Go to the Mack Boring web site, they have a trans identifier. Which is more like your trans model and their replacement model. But it's better then nothing.
