I was chatting with a long-time vendor to Albin, who also had dealings with Shamrock/Bo Palmer, and he thought that Shamrock had not completely closed on the purchase of Albin's molds and tooling before Shamrock itself folded. He said that Shamrock had only received the molds for the Albin 28, and the molds for the 31TE, 35CB and 35TE were still in the Albin factory in Portsmouth. It was his opinion that the final closing and transfer of the remaining tooling had been scheduled for this June, 2009.
Does anyone know if the molds for the 31 and 35 models are still in Portsmouth? If this is the case, then Fred Peters still controls much of the Albin line. I hope the molds are not simply thrown out by the buyer of the Albin property if they have not been removed.
