Ric .... We plan to top our tank off in Sandwich and make our way to Kingman to spend the 1st night. Up and out to fish Naushon Island & spend the night on the hook in Hadley Harbor & off to East Falmouth/Menhaunt to visit family for a night or 2 then west towards Essex .... Wickford sounds good and thank you for the open invitation ... hell Wickford even has its own inset on my chart . It might be tight though ..... now if I could just shake the family thing .
Again thank you and as things get closer I will know more. Trying to fit Mystic SeaPort & BI in coming or most likely going while remaining flexible.

Kev, I thought family visits were restricted to holidays! - Any chance to hang out with Ric & Karen should not be missed......Pitou wrote:Wickford sounds good and thank you for the open invitation ... hell Wickford even has its own inset on my chart . Been there by boat and really liked it. Going by boat allows you to have access to the grounds 24/7 and it's nice to walk around when the place is ghostly quiet at night and in the early AM before the obnoxious ankle-biter's & stroller-pusher's come barging on in.Pitou wrote: Trying to fit Mystic SeaPort & BI in coming or most likely going while remaining flexible.

Rob, You're right ... If it were my family they wouldn't stand a chance. Believe me ... the closer we get to summer the further it pushes away. My odds are on Wickford.RobS wrote:Kev, I thought family visits were restricted to holidays! - Any chance to hang out with Ric & Karen should not be missed......Pitou wrote:Wickford sounds good and thank you for the open invitation ... hell Wickford even has its own inset on my chart . Thanks for the thoughts on Mystic ... I think one night will suffice ... getting in mid afternoon and out early before those ankle biters and then off to Essex Island.
I see a float plan developing.

Not to worry Rob, I'd never take down a Captain in my own fleet ..... now, if you owned a SeaRay ......RobS wrote:Uh oh, now don't you go gettin' me in trouble with Ms. Bow Candy, I don't need empty bottles of LPR smashing through my pilothouse windows !Pitou wrote:

We will be coming in via Amtrak to Old Saybrook. Either rent a car or use a car service.
I called the Griswold. Booked
I'm looking at Westbrook Inn as well. Any recommendations for nice bed and breakfast within walking distance of marina?

We may have a car there as well as our boat. Might be able to arrange to pick you up. Karen is attending Connecticut School of Massage in Groton and has class on Thursday and Monday. I am taking the boat down, maybe Thursday, and she will drive to Essex after her class in Groton, spend the weekend with us, then go to class on Monday and drive back to Wickford. This means there will be a car there if needed. Perhaps she will take my car (seats 5) so we have more land transport capability. Not that you need much there, there was a shuttle last season that took you around to the grocery etc. As for places to stay, I would call Essex Island Marina and ask them. In Boston the marina had charter boats that you could rent by the night to sleep on (ask Rob & Erika).

John, I guess you mean booked like "No Vacancy" If so, that's amazing, almost 4 months out and it's not even a holiday weekend. Wonder if there is a special event nearby (other than AOG ) going on that weekend?
Best bet is to call EIM, the staff there is both pleasant and helpful.
Ric, I love you - A car for beer runs and massages too! I better bring extra cash.
We will be there Thursday as well.

The girl I spoke with was very friendly. When I mentioned I was amazed that they were already booked, she said "yea, some dumb bride booked it for her wedding party" If they booked the whole place it must be a big wedding. I'm up for crashing it!
