Cummins engine problems
I am contemplating mounting a flow scan meter on my 28TE. Has anyone had good or bad experiences with this process and where did you mount the meter. I cannot decide the best place as most of the consule is pretty well metered out. The engine is Cummins. Also have had a smoking problem most of the summer. Cummins has been down several times and had limited success in solving the problem It is a1995 6tba with just over 1000 hours and it does not jump up on a plane like it did prior to this season. Bottom is good . Cummins cleaned the turbo and calibrated found some oil in the case but otherwise nothing remarkable. Also fuel consumptoion seems to be down from previous year. Temperature is steady at 192 at 2200 RPM's, which is also up from 187 over the last couple of years. Any thoughts.

My flow scan is on the ledge just in front of my Morse control. Seems to be a good place, the reset switch is just above the steering wheel and below the gauges. I don't have a Cummins but I think from all I've read that they are noted to be somewhat smokey. I do know the VT903's were real smokers from the get go.

I can't help you with mounting the flowscan - each installation is different so you'll have to take your best shot at that one.
The earlier (i.e. non-electronic) Cummins were a little smokie, but nothing to worry about. The B-series (330, 370 hp) are pretty stout motors...my local Cummins rep loves 'em more than most of the Cummins models, but even he admits they tend to smoke under normal opperation.
