Moriches Inlet
Moriches Inlet Dredging is underway and hopefully by spring we will have a safe and real inlet for a change.

Re: Moriches Inlet
From what I have read about that area that must be a welcome sight.

Re: Moriches Inlet
Hopefully it lasts at least past the next two hurricanes. Been there, seen upside down boats zipping out the inlet

Re: Moriches Inlet
That's great news!
I've avoided that inlet in the past but I did go out one time following a sportfisher. It was high tide and dead calm out there so it was worth the risk.
Any news about the shoaling channel area (non inlet area) if they are dredging that as well?

Re: Moriches Inlet
I have not heard anything but I'll see what I can find out from my friends in the Coast Guard Aux.gerygarcia wrote:That's great news!

Re: Moriches Inlet
Thanks Rob for getting the info.
I guess we'll just have to test it out in the spring
I'm wondering if they'll keep the buoys closer to the mainland.
My eyes will be peeled for reports of the positioning.
Never like going through that area, even at high tide.
