New 28TE Owner from Los Angeles
New 28TE Owner from Los Angeles
Hi everyone, I'm pleased to be a new member of AOG as the owner of a 2007 28TE Newport in the Los Angeles area. I'm so glad to have found your website, now I know that I'm not alone in believing these are great boats despite the less than great customer service to date, as many of you have pointed out previously. I think our 28TE was probably among the last ones built in Maine--hopefully the customer service will only get better under the new ownership. Since we bought our boat, I have been struggling with many of the same problems I have read about here. I'm sure you'll be able to help me with these problems, and I'll be more than happy to share my own solutions too. I've been around boats--both sail and power--most of my life in Long Island, Maine, Michigan, Florida and now California. We keep our 28TE "Little Gem" in Newport Harbor (the Newport on the other coast) and have yet to see another Albin here--hopefully that will change. There's nothing better than being out on the water, and our 28TE is our best boat yet, she handles beautifully on the ocean! I'll be sending some pix of "Little Gem" soon, as well as some problems--and solutions--for your input. Happy motoring, Saltydog

Welcome to the forum. Albins are indeed great boats. One small correction however, the TE's were made in Portsmouth RI, not Maine. The name and molds have been purchased by Shamrock and they have restarted production in N. Carolina.

Welcome to the board, such a great place to share information & the joys of owning an Albin. Great to see so many newbies coming on to the site. I'm starting to feel like an ole timer, lol. Good luck

Saltydog,
Welcome to the group. Great to have another member from the left coast. Looking forward to seeing pictures of Little Gem.
