Time to put it to rest...

Post by jcollins »

Thanksgiving is over. Great dinner. It was good to see my sister on the eastern shore. I don't make it to "the other Maryland" very often. The eastern shore really is nice. Different pace. Hard to believe it's so close to Baltimore, yet so different. It's just across "the connecting link" as Chief calls it.

Last week Afterglow was pulled. Tomorrow I'll winterize the engine and fresh water systems and cover up for the winter. I'll pack up the electronics and bring them home. I usually have a beverage or two, read the log book of all of our travels this past season. I always end a log entry with W.O.I. (without incident) or W.I. (with incident) This year every entry was W.O.I. except one when I fell off the swim platform. Yes, wallet and cell phone.

Another great summer :(

Yup......me too.
Out, winterized, and did the "shrink" yesterday.
Perfect weather too. Mid-high 40's and little wind.

Just read this morning in the Cape Cod Times that while I was "shirinking", Ted Kennedy went sailing off of Hyannisport enjoying the cloudless, relatively warm day. He may not have many more of those days to enjoy. Never a fan, but I certainly respect and don't envy his health situation.

Something tells me that "somebody else" stores and winterizes Teddy's yacht........that I envy!

Sometimes a good smack on the back is all you need.
