Shot back up to $120/bbl today.
I'm making a quick trip to the fuel dock to fill the tanks up this afternoon. No point in waiting for that increase to hit the pump.

The more things change
When I was 10 a loaf of bread was $.26 and a gallon of gas was about $.26. Now both are about $4.00. What's changed? NOTHING! Don't worry (unless you are a highly paid broker at Lehman who hasn't done a days' hard f$%king work in your life). Not much is really going to change.

Paid $3.90/gal.
That's $.99 less than I paid to fill it back on August 8th and $1.22 less than I paid for a small amount in late July. The manager of the fuel dock said they usually only change their price when they get a new delivery. This seemed like bad business to me, but whatever. He said they probably wouldn't get a new delivery until Monday. But with oil jumping up considerably yesterday, and staying high today, I expect that pump prices will be headed up shortly.
When you're buying in these large quantities, I think it pays to watch the market and time your big fill-ups with low spots.

Received my fuel delivery today. Paid $4.39. When I ordered the fuel last Monday it was at $4.37, so no jump in the last week and a half. The truck is filled nearly daily so the fuel is priced accordingly.RobS wrote:
Also, I took 114 gallons which is 7/8ths of a tank and the pictures shows my gauge was at 1/8th so it looks like my calibration of the fuel sender was right on. Usually I'm getting fuel when I'm +/- a half tank and I always found the gauge to be quite accurate but figured the level of accuracy may not be as great as the fuel level got further down into the "V" profile. When I calibrated the sender I took the "V" profile into account and it looks like it worked out well.
I don't have my prior receipts with me to compare what I paid per gallon in the beginning of the season and mid-summer.

I took your advice and burned off a half tank of the pricey stuff from last weeks fill at $ 3.99 and filled this morning at $ 3.25 / gallon .... red diesel off road. A year ago I would have been grumbling!Anthony1013 wrote: No no no! What you need to do is burn that expensive stuff and then fill up again with the lower costing fuel.... that's what I'm doing.
