hatch lift rocker switch

Does anyone know where to get a replacement hatch lift switch for a 28te?

I don't mean to sound stupid, but what is a hatch lift switch? D

on a flush deck model 28, there is a deck hatch that must be lifted to access the engine & running gear. Albin used two 12VDC motorized linear actuators that operate from a switch mounted low at teh stern of teh pilot house (on the fibergalass portion of the radar arch support).

It is a reversing, rocker style, switch so that when depressed at the top, the deck hatch lifts. when depressed at the bottom, it lowers. The mounting location allows spray & mist to get at the switch -which I think is why mine stopped functioning.

Thanks for the explanation. I have never seen a flush deck model so I had no idea what that was. It sounds like it is something that you can find though. If you pull the switch out are there any names on it or model nos. that you can google? Maybe it's time to up grade to a water tight type switch if it's not already? Good luck, Den

The switch is a Blue Seas Contura 8290 DPDT (double pole-double throw, black color, + no LED)

If you find that the connectors slide on/off loosely, you can use a pliers to close them up a bit to get a better connection, you will also ewant to use some waterproof (elecrtical) grease to prevent corrosion of the connection over time.

My hatch lift works more dependably now.
