IMPROVEMENTS AND CHANGES TO 32+2 CB - A
This may seem unusual, but it is a great addition. The previous owner added this teak screen door as well as a teak screen for the front hatch. We use it all the time

Screen
I had a 100% screen center panel made to zip into the rear curtain on our 28TE. It adds great bug free ventilation with cabin hatch open with it's screen in place.

screen
Have your canvas guy do half screen, half canvas if he can match the canvas. My fabric was several years old but in good condition. He could not exactly match the color though due to fading. The 100% screen is a little "saggy" looking. It works great, it's just not as "tight" looking as the rest of the canvas. I had a 50-50 panel on my old boat and it was perfect. Miss K is a bit claustrophobic and prefers to sleep with the cabin door open, not good in buggy places!

How do you open the solid door when the screen door is closed?
My solid door opens to the outside. Can't figure it out
Thanks

I just had this new canvas done last week. I also like the idea of screens so I had it made so the glass unzips and rolls up leaving screens. You can see the zippers of the glass through the screens.

Browsing through old posts....
Doug, I have the same question as James. How does the main door open when the screen door is in place? Also, is there a hook to hold the screen door open?

On our boat, the solid door opens in. Some seem to open in and some open out. I do not know how difficult it woudl be to change an out opening door to an in opening door.
You are correct there is no hook to hold the screen door open, but we have not ever had the need to keep it open when traveling. When we are not traveling, the door will stay open on its own.

My cabin door opens out. I had a canvas guy make a screen that snaps to the inside of the opening; with a zipper. when we don't want it, we take it off and stow it away. When it's in place, just unzip to transit the door.

Bugs are not a problem here so no need for screens but this is by far the best mod made to our 32. Wasn't even my idea. Room for 2 to sleep. Makes the boat able to sleep at least 6 adults though it is seldom more than just 2 of us these days. Nice & cool up there by day or night.
