autopilot 31 TE

any one with an autopilot on a 31 TE? where are you locating the compass?

I just finished an install in a 28 TE, and put the heading sensor under the bench seat on the starboard side in the cabin (just forward of the hanging locker. It just has to be 3' from any metal or magnetic fields (bow thruster and reverse heat/AC unit is major concern in bow).

Thanks for that advice on the location! I am mounting my sensor now as well and will try that exact same location!

Ric,

I have the same installation. One caution is be careful with someone putting their duffle or bag on the starboard bunk with a metal object in the bag (including cellphone, gps etc) it will throw off the fluxgate.

Mine is located under the seat hatch in the shower, nothing goes in this
area, no chance of damage.
