Its time I have to replace the aft deck hatch that gives access to the water tanks and etc... I have a 1983 36 Albin . what trype od wood should I use and the thickness.... thank you

I will measure mine this weekend, during winterization. Do you still have the original Teak Decks? I had my decks removed and replaced with Fiberglass so my current hatch solid fiberglass, but I have marine plywood shelving to add storage in the lazerette. The reason I ask about the original decking - is the old hatch was constructed with teak - I would assume laid over marine plywood like the hatch covers and rest of boat.
