Perko raw water strainer

Post by Pedro »

My Perko raw water strainer is now leaking from the base gasket,(I already bought the gasket kit,)can the bolts be tightened to seal it so I can do a full rebuild of it during winter lay up? I'd hate to make it worse,

Try tightening it down. It can be rebuilt whil in the water. Take about an hour. Just make sure you close you raw water intake.

Look for hairline cracks.

We replaced the cork gasket with rubber, had to trim up out side of gasket for a better fit to achieve no leaks.
