[quote="jointventure"]I was notified of this by Brian Norman who was attempting to organize a northeast rendezvous.

Good, I'm glad you two finally made contact.

Sorry to hear about Fred's passing. I still plan to hold those dates. Either Greenport or Riverhead are good locations.

John, I drove out to Treasure Cove Marina in Riverhead today. As it turns out they are closed Saturday and Sunday. Nevertheless, I think this would be a great place for a rendezvous. They have a pool, fuel dock, ice cream "parlor", snack bar, bar-b-q area, floating docks, TV, Aquarium is next door and some great restaurants. Dockage should be around $3 a foot. I would continue further if there is any serious interest, My preference would be August. Their website is http://www.treasurecoveresortmarina.com. Also a great place for inflatables to do some recon.

Max,
If they can accommodate 10-15 boats (will probably end up with 6-8).

I say you contact them for the details regarding slip availability, dates, reservation timing.

The sooner we get the word out the better chance of a decent turn out.

I agree with John if you could make the calls Max.
Only downside I see with Treasure Cove is that it can get real hot, being so far up river, but at least there is a pool (unlike the Mystic Seaport) and plenty of places to walk to or anchorages to to get out on the hook for the day.
We spent a couple nices at TC over this passed Labor Day weekend and it was pretty quiet. I think they'd be up to holding the entire transient dock for us until a certain date to give us first shot.

Looks like there's ~10 slips on the transient dock. The first slip is for the Aquarium Explorer tour boat, you can see it on my port side. This was over Labor Day weekend. And then if need be they have some transient slips mixed in among the resident slip docks.

Max,
I say go for it - start with the Aug 5,6,7 dates and work up to the July dates if necessary.

We will be off on a cruise (big boat) March 11 thru April 2.
I'll be in touch when we return to give a hand in organizing.

Thanks for stepping in - we look forward to all getting together again.

John and Rob, I called but no return call, I sent an e-mail this morning to them, I will follow up with Treasure Cove and advise the armada with the info.

Rob and John and the rest of the crew. I spoke to Treasure Cove and they can accommodate us the last two weekends in July. The prices would be $3.75 per foot the first night, $1.85 the second night and free the third night. We would have access to the Hyatt which is next door. The Hyatt has an indoor and outdoor pool, pus a fitness center. They can handle 10-15 boats no problem. If we decide to go this way, we would have an entire floating dock to ourselves. Their website is http://www.treasurecoveresortmarina .com. If we can get a show of "hands" if there is any interest and should I continue talking to them?

Enjoy, Spring is coming.

I think TC would work very well.

The weekend of July 22-24th is best for my crew but be sure to book for what works for the group, not Mr. Albin Alumnus here..
