Anyone have any knowledge as to the life of a glow plug?

No, but you can disconnect them and check them with an ohm meter - If they show nearly a short, they're good. If they show an open, they're bad. Two of the four on my 4D61 were gone at 1100 hours

You can buy them from NAPA - There's a part number somewhere here on the forum. Might try Rockauto online as well

Tks Don,

I have spares. I was interested in the life. Appreciate the info concerning testing.

PO of my 27 FC keep very good records, as well as parts recites. Looks like the glow plugs were 29 years old and they still were working. Thanks, Mark.
