MAIDEN VOYAGE 3

Post by TonyAmalfitano »

As you know I tossed my transmission last Aug, on the Maiden Voyage. I have replaced said blown tranny with a ZF-63A :?: (or something like that.) That also lead to a new prop. This past Sunday the Wife and I got to take this boat for a real ride. Boy did she run good, (the boat.)
I'm still short 100 RPM from WOT, but I can live with it for now. I might just have the prop tweeked durning the off season. So, I picked up a knot at cruising speed 13 @ 2800 RPM, WOT was 14.6 @ 3100 RPM. I find my missing 100 RPM and I'll break 15 knots!! HANG ON, WE BE MOVIN' NOW! I used to drive a sailboat, anything over 6 knots is fast. 8)
Well, it looks like I might just get some real boating in this year.
Oh, did I mention, I sold my sailboat! Got just what I paid for it 2 years ago!

There's nothing like a good run to build some trust in the Good Old Boat.
I picked up some SOUNDOWN carpet under lay. Works great to deaden some of the motor noise. Soundown sent me way too much of the stuff, now I'm looking for other places to put it.
