Summer Beverage Recipes wanted

Post by Legacy »

Spring is almost here and we're getting the boat ready for launch. One thing we try to do each season is to invent a new house boat drink. (I know, a little weird) Last year's Legacy Punch included Absolut Mandarin, CranMango juice and a splash of Sprite. Open to new ideas.

One part ice, one part Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum, one part Coca-Cola.

That's my drink. It's the only one I need.

There's always the standard margarita on the rocks..no blender req'd.
Remember the 2-1-2 zone defense and it's easy...
2 parts tekillya, 1 part triple sec, 2 parts rose's lime juice. Transfer to another glass, then pour into your ice filled margartia glass.
Salted rim optional.

Now you hit my style ... I substitute Grand Marnier for the Triple Sec.

I could give you my Bermuda Rum Swizzle recipe but if you can't get Goslings Black Seal rum in your are it is really pointless. There is NO substitute.

Send the recipe. We have Goslings black seal at our state ABC store! (of course for us it's about $18 bucks a ltr!)

Gotta watch out for them Dark & Stormys too

Here is the Bermuda Barefoot Cruises rum swizzle

1/2 gallon yield

35 oz Dole pineapple juice (don't use cheap stuff)
10-12 orange juice (frozen not the orange drink)
8oz, or so, Goslings Barbados Rum (Mount Gay it Goslings is unavailable
6oz, or so Goslings Black Seal rum (no substitutes)
1/2oz falernum
3/4oz, or so grenadine
1 shake Angostura bitters

This is a health drink, fruit juice, right!!!!
Goes down real easy then sneaks up on you.

Goslings seems to get the nod

Post by Legacy »

I have to try Goslings! Spring has finally made it to Boston so rather than cleaning the basement today I'd better go to the liquor store and try some rum!

This is considered a ladies drink (admirals) but I do like champagne.

Strawberry Mimosa
8 ounces frozen sliced strawberries in syrup, partially thawed
8 ounces orange juice
16 ounces chilled champagne

Combine sliced berries and juice in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour over ice cubes or crushed ice in a parfait glass. Fill with champagne and garnish with a whole strawberry and an orange slice.

OR
Champagne Sangria

One bottle of champagne in a pitcher, add a generous portion of peach schnapps. Mix in fresh fruit.
