Airex or balsa?

Post by xsailor »

Howdy all,

We are looking at a few 32+2's on Monday and are wondering about the core material. I saw a posting with this link, which says that the 28TE went to airex at some point:

Did Albin do this with the 32+2 as well? The boats we're looking at are 1999. There is a 2006 for sale that might be worth the jump in price if its airex. That said, I had a balsa cored 25-year-old C&C sailboat and had no problems. Its fine when done well, I'd just like to know.

Thanks for the info,

Adam

I put a new transducer in my 96 2+2 & pretty sure the core is balsa. Although I don't know what airex looks like.
