Hey guys!!

Post by DougSea »

Wow, I've been gone for wayyyy too long! Every single sub forum has unread posts! There are new members, old members moving on (to new boats!), and a lot of friends I haven't talked to in ages. :(

I've been in a long, drawn out process of negotiating my way out of a non-compete agreement and forming my own consulting company as a look to have more flexibility in my business plans. It took way longer than expected but it's finally done and I'm really hoping to spend more time aboard/working on Sonny IV and here on AOG.

So, to my old friends, hi! How's things?

And to the new guys, be prepared. I comment on everything! :-)

We enjoyed your absence, No, I mean we look fwd to your return!

Just the opposite here, actually the last month or two has been a lull in the workload, first lull since 2009, but 2010 and 2011 were record years for my business so a brief lull is okay, hope it doesn't last much longer though..

So I have spent a lot of time working on TOY-RIFIC, upgrading and replacing things that aren't even broken, just because, you know the drill. And I have also been on AOG daily, picking up your slack!

We are booked for Memorial Day weekend at Montauk Yacht Club. It will be our 4th Memorial Day weekend there, 3rd time with the Albin. It's pre-season rates til May 31st. Our $75/night slip would be $220/night in season. You should join us.

Thanks guys,

I really do feel like I've let people down, John in particular, so I'm going to be really trying to dive back in. I think I've posted more comments and read more posts in the last couple of days than I have in the last 6 months.

And Rob, thanks for the snide comments... they were just what I needed! Hope to see you in Essex if not before. Kathy - thanks for the welcome (back) as well!
