The place and dates for the Florida AOG rendezvous are Cape Harbor Marina, Cape Coral, Tuesday March 22 through Thursday March 24. Reservations have been made for 15 Albins with an additional 9 slips available, at $1.00 per foot, including electric. ( If fewer than 10 boats the charge goes up to $1.75 per foot.) There will be live music at the outdoor stage at The Joint restaurant on Tuesday from 1800 to 2200 hours (6 to 10 PM) and a farewell dinner on Thursday at Rum Runners. Further information regarding activities will be forthcoming after the first of the year. And visit
www.capeharbor.com for info on this resort and its amenities.
Post your intentions on this forum, including boat name, length and electric requirement, as the more Albins we get, the more likely we can arrange some interesting and informative activities. All of the former members of the Florida Albin Club have been notified and hopefully many will attend. I expect to depart St Petersburg Monday, March 21, for an overnight anchorage at Cayo Costa and a burger at Cabbage Key, with arrival at Cape Harbor Tuesday. Any boats from the Tampa Bay or Punta Gorda areas interested in meeting up?

Chuck,
We would like to maka a reservation for the Florida Rendezvous in March. We have a Albin 32+2 called Blessings which we purchased last January. We have owned about 12 boats during our 50 years of boating, but this is our first Albin. We are looking forward to the Rendeavous to meet some more Albin owners and learn more about Albin boats. We will need two 30 amp electrical connections.

Looks like a good response so far for the Florida rendezvous in March. Confirmations from " Relaxn"' St Petersburg; " Blessings" Fort Myers; " Lady Bliss" Punta Gorda; Al O Fish Us, Punta Gorda; Hardee, Cape Coral; Bidgood, Pelican Isle; Fireman Bob by car from Daytona(?); " A - List" St Petersburg; and, by air(?) John Collins from the Chesapeake! And we haven't even heard from the Florida Albin Club yet - got to be another 8 or 10? Should be quite a picture at the Cape Harbor Marina ( and resort) with lots of Albins!

Looking forward to meeting you, John and Maureen, and especially as you are the first boat from the East coast (not counting Fireman Bob who may come by "iron dinghy"). It's a nice couple days across the middle of Florida and through the locks! We need to begin identifying engine makes of attending boats so we can entice Cummins or Yanmar (Mastry) to give us a presenter with some tips on engine maintenance/tuning!

We are now showing ten confirmed attendees, possible one more, and two by car or air, including John and Sharon Collins ( our webmaster!) from Baltimore. I need Dan's boat type/length fro Tampa and the electrical requirements for Bidgood,Get aweigh, Relaxn and Island Belle. I could guess 2 30 amps but would like to be sure. Also, if those using 2 30 amp have a splitter and can use a 50, please indicate that. I will be checking the marina on Jan 18 and would like to let them know. A separate notice has just gone out to some 60 former members of the Florida Albin Club and I anticipate a number of additional attendees from that source. More details to come later, including prizes!

Hi Chuck,
Looking forward to the rendezvous. "Get Aweigh" is a Albin 32ft Sportfisherman Cruiser with a 12ft beam. I need only one 30A shore power connection. How many so far are joining you for the overnight at Cabbage Key? Should be fun.

Nauti Naita 28 TE Newport requires a 30 amp connection. Joyride may need two 30's-it's a 35CB and Holiday Express is the same boat so I assume they need two 30's also. Husbands out of town right now.Hope this helps.

For those attending the rendezvous, John Kays is on site at Cape Harbor and arranging docking. Please send him an email confirming your arrival and docking preference (some folks have expressed a desire to be birthed by other boats). His email is JKletsgoATaolDOTcom. Thanks, and see you there. Hey Chuck,
You have to "spell out" e-mail addresses on the forum. Some kind of phishing/spam prevention thing. For example: doug AT mailprovider DOT com
It's really nice to see the Florida contingent moving along on an AOG rendezvous! I'm sure we'll make it down to one some day!
