Keeping seat cushion dry

Good morning,

How do you keep your deck seat cushion dry? All of my cushion sponges are wrapped in what appears to be cellophane but these rip easily and all the cushions get quite saturated eventually. As I am winterizing the boat I would like to make modifications so I can enjoy the deck seating better next year.

Let me know if you have any suggestions to make these cushions water resistant.
