Standing on the dock & NO LONGER looking

Post by Nowhere Special »

Hello to all, name here is Dave. We,( me and my lovely bride of 37 years, June) are currently looking for an Albin 28 TE, and have found a few in the Maryland area which we are going to view this weekend. One TE (95) has a 200hp Yanmar and another (93) a 315hp Yanmar. Was there an option for a higher hp motor?

Dave

Just an update on what's happening. We will be doing our sea trial on out new/used 28' TE.
Will keep in touch as to how we do.
Looking forward to posting some photos.

Dave

Some 28TE's have the 370 Cummins and as you can see from my signature I have the 250 HP version. I think 200 hp is too low and the 315 model is just right. My 250 is adequate but a little more reserve would be nice. Good luck.

Welcome to AOG Dave.
I echo Russell. 200 hp could be considered on the low side. But, if your never in a big hurry and if the condition is great, it may be the boat for you.
Where in Maryland are you looking?

Thanks for the info ....... I had some reserve about the 200hp. We are staying in the Annapolis area for the weekend.

Should we be adding your name to the list of those attending the rendezvous?

June and I had thought about attending but chose to get the boat home asap. The boat will be moored on Catabwa Island in Lake Erie.
