Circumnavigating Delmarva Peninsula

Post by Bob Enzor »

Greetings,
I am planning a spring '09 circumnavigation around the Delmarva Penninsula and am wondering if any fellow AOG members have 'been there - done that"?
I would appreciate any comentary regarding the ocean leg of the trip. I will transit the C&D canal over to Cape May NJ then procede down the coast to Cape Charles VA then heading back up the Chesapeake to my home port in St. Michaels.
Any advise is appreciated.

Come visit us at Severn Marine, Tilghman Island. We will be staying there April 8th to the 12th. Just look for the 5th wheel trailer.

Veebyes, are you going to pass through Norfolk, VA? If so let me know.

Bob,
That sounds like a great trip. I've been as far as O.C. via the C&D. Plan an outgoing tide and hope for winds from the west. Delaware Bay can get snotty. I've also read that the mouth of the Chesapeake and crossing the Potomac can get very serious. Never been that far south of Baltimore.

We are hopefully making the trip to Cape May this season.

Have fun!
