Albin Maintenance
I am restoring a 2004 28 and having some problems replacing some parts which I will list. Thanks for any help' Soap Dish in Head Tooth Brush and GlassHolder Shower wand in head Gear Shift CoverPlate and Gear shifter Hooks for transom door and door into cabin. If possible stainless replacements would be preferred. I am trying not to drill new holes replacing these items and if necessary will have them rechromed. Thanks again.

Wow, I find it hard to believe that the chrome is coming off those components after only 4 years, especially the stuff in the head which is out of the weather. Did you try metal polish and a buffing wheel? If the chrome is not pitted, just rusty looking, take the stuff off, invest in a buffing wheel you can chuck into an electric drill and clean them up, get new SS screws and they should look like new.
Unfortunately Albin sourced parts like that from many manufacturers, often switching in the middle of model years (which are a joke on boats anyway). They did not use standardized parts like a car manufacturer.

restoring
The soap dish etc are trashed. The previous owner must have left the port open while running in rough seas and didn't wash with fresh water. I've had some items rechromed before and it's not too pricey. Will try Bristol Marine and some other suppliers in the meantime.
