TRACK FOR SLIDING COCKPIT GATE

Post by Pauld »

I have a 2007 CB35.

I hope I can explain my question properly.

The sliding gate at the aft port side of the cockpit appears to be missing a track or something that enables the gate to slide open and close smoothly. It not only doesn't slide smoothly, it is also about 3/4 of an inch lower that it should be...the barrel bolt and it corresponding hole don't line up.

I took the panel off and noticed there are 2 circular "holes" that would seem to be where the mechanism that's supposed to be there to enable the gate to slide back & forth is missing

Does anybody have any idea what those holes are supposed to have in them?

We take apart lots of things just to see what's behind them, but not if there's caulking involved and the thing isn't broken. Our gate is working all right, although a little weirdly, but falls in the category of not fixing it if it's not broke. Because, you know, caulking, ugh. I'll be interested to learn what mysterious mechanism is back there.
