Are there any plans for the 2018 gathering?

Welcome neighbor. We bought a 35TE last April. We're in Raritan Marina. Made the trek to New London this year it was fun.
Good luck with your new boat. See you on the water.

Somewhat early to talk about a rendezvous for 2018, but I called Island Boatyard on Shelter Island. They have 20 transient slips available. If there is any interest in regard to having the annual gathering there let me know. I have never been there but the marina is a full service marina with pool, restaurant and sunken sailboat for a bar. Dockage is a little pricey at $5.50 a foot.
The marina is located on the South side of Shelter Island, NY., in a protected cove.
look forward to hearing from you sailors.

Sounds good but pricey, I've stayed at Coecles twice as Island Boatyard was almost double the slip fee,,but never been there so it could be a great spot.
I'm up for Shelter Island anytime, great spot and perfect cruising grounds to do an extended trip,

$5.50/ft plus $10 for a single 30amp = $164 per night for a 28TE. Crazy - you could be out at Montauk Yacht Club getting your feet rubbed for that money. Treasure Cove was $4 but the 2nd night was half price or if you stayed 3 nights the 3rd was free. Of course being way up the Peconic River at Treasure is clearly not the same as being on Shelter Island.
There's a good restaurant but there is nothing to walk to at Island Boatyard. One big plus is that Island Boatyard is inside West Neck Harbor which is an excellent anchorage so anyone opting out of the pricey slip can anchor out and it makes a great raft up spot.
Here's 3 TE's on the hook at West Neck 5 years ago.
I think the Marina at American Wharf in Norwich should be considered.

Norwich is a good idea. I've never been there by boat. Should be a lot to see on the way up.

Norwich harbor in the middle of summer would not make my list of destinations, fall cruise only....
