Got me a life-raft today: A Viking 6 pax Coastal with a canopy.
It barely fits sideways under the V-Berth:

I lose the storage space forward of the raft however.
Question: Is it easy to remove the center stand/ cylinder for the table?
Is there enough support for the bunk insert without the stand/cylinder to sleep in the V-berth? (2 folks, one 220 lbs fatso male and a petite 130 lbs female?)

Asking for a friend.

I had the dinette center stand out at one point on my 28TE .. easy. Will the perimeter cleats hold the captain and his mate? Good question. Many a Downeast boat is setup exactly this way so I would think that if the cleats are substantially secured that you will be okay. I'd certainly check out the fasteners and give it a test run before getting too comfortable.

Not sure I want to move the raft every time I crank up the AC, but I may have to..

Tried to raise the table to today, but no cigar, need a hydraulic jack, or I need to invite my gorilla buddies over for a beer and a “Lift the Table Competition” :

Yeah, there is AC, but I had just plain forgotten about the air intake, haven’t seen in months, out of sight out of mind, etc.
Only use AC when we tie up to a marina in the summer, 3-4 times a year maybe. Will move the raft then, 62 lbs is good exercise..

Easy to move the raft to cockpit before it gets dark if stored inside/down below

Yeah, easy:
I was afraid the base was through bolted, but no, just wood screws.
Tested my mass on the table without no center stand: It held, but protested with creaks and groans..
It should work, but I ought to go jogging more.

Sorry, did not see this post until now:
Forgot where I bought the grommets, but definitely on-line.
Used quite a few suppliers for old parts, maybe it was Great Lakes Skipper boat parts, not sure.
Do a google search for: “White Rod Holder Grommets” and you should get numerous hits.
Pay attention to how many screw holes and exact measurements, I got a wrong batch the first time, some company in New Jersey had the wrong picture on their web site, the return was on them

Installed a new Isotherm fridge a few days ago.

More work than expected, but came out good in the end.

Installed a new faucet today: Needed new adapters/connectors but Scandvik was helpful, only $4-5 a piece.
