I mentioned the make and model number in an earlier post - #5 from the top in this thread
In addition to being more efficient, it's also warrantied for five years - Most others just have a two year warranty. Carolyn's is 7 years old and still going strong, but we did buy a spare before we left to go cruising
Costs about $500. Comes with a carry bag and a detachable humidifier
We use it plugged in at the house (of course) and keep the 12 volt plug attached to a small motorcycle AGM battery which has a Battery Tender Jr on it. When the power goes out in the middle of the night, it auto switches to 12 volts and she never knows about the power failure
Kinda strange that a manufacturer would choose to build a unit designed to run on 24 volts, IMO. I wonder what the rationale behind that decision was??
