So, what's the plan? Is it structured like one week cruising, one week off? Or rather cruise until... Then fly home?

The Loop is on my retirement bucket list but I have a few more years to wait.

I think it's smart to go in stages. I know of a couple that was doing the Loop as a marathon. They went from Florida to Buffalo, NY, where his wife decided she had enough. She flew home leaving hubby behind. He arranged to have the boat transported back to Florida. They later sold it.

My future plans? Tell the kids where we'll be and come visit us along the way. Wherever we are, we are. No plans, no schedule, no worries!

How do I get an AOG burgee??
I still need an American Flag! Had one that went with my last boat.
Planning on just cruising when I can and flying back and forth. I'm a pilot for a major airline, so the flying part is the easiest! I plan to spend my money on marina fees and cabs since fuel is almost a non issue. Seriously, 1/2 gallon an hour??????
Arrived in Stuart today and tied up at Mariners Cay marina, beautiful little marina with great pool overlooking the water and nice folks. Got a ride with the dock master to dinner.
Gotta go to work tomorrow, be back in a couple weeks.....

We successfully crossed from the Gulf to the Atlantic! Left La Belle FL at sunrise and headed east to Clewiston. Went thru the locks at Ortona and Moore Haven, also hurricane lock at Clewiston. The A25 really enjoys the cruise, going upstream happily at 2200RPM yielding 6-6.5 kts.
Lunch at Roland Martin Marina, the BEST burger you'll ever have on the water! We were planning to cross Lake Okechobee but didn't have enough speed to make Port Mayaca Lock before they closed at 7pm, therefore we took the Rim Route to Pahokee and docked at Okechobee Resort Marina.
I haven't anchored out yet, it's way too hot and humid for me to sleep without my air conditioner! The A25 is actually a perfect sized cruiser for 2-4 people who know how to pack light. The advantages of 22"-24" draft and only 25' length are enormous. Everything is charged by the foot, so length=$$.
Took on fuel Sunday at Indiantown Marina, 12 gallons after 17.6 hrs of cruising averaging .68 GPH at an increased speed of 7.5kts at 2400RPM
Docked in Stuart Florida after taking a look at the Atlantic Ocean.
Covered 150SM over a 3 1/2 day period, about 14 gallons of diesel and absolutely no mechanical problems. Beautiful trip across old wild Florida, I highly recommend it.
Next stop....Fort Lauderdale and down to the Keys.
