It's a good turn of speed. I'm quite surprised that the cargo boat is only 21,000 tonnes net. Our cross channel ferries to France are bigger than that!

Just checked in to www.marinetraffic.com and my Albin is just heading through the Bermuda Triangle!

I found some brilliant live webcams around Brunswick and Charleston, so we have been watching the ship carrying the boat come and go - Next Stop, Zeebrugge in 9 days time.

ITS HERE!!!!!

(but I can't go and look at it till Monday as the ship doesn't leave till 17:00 tonight and the dock area is closed off to me)

*EDIT*

Just noticed what berth it is on.

Berth Number 44 - there was a pretty famous boat that left that berth once and sunk in the North Atlantic after hitting an iceberg!

Well, I managed to get in the docks on Saturday and I can finally say I've touched it! Well one even better, I managed to even get on board!

She will need some TLC where its been used solely for fishing, as we will with the odd overnight stay on board.

So hopefully today she will arrive here in Gosport so we can get her unwrapped and get the radar mast back on and spotlight as they had to be taken down for transportation, then Wednesday the antifoul will be soda blasted off so we can start afresh.

Good for you, let the games begin! Consider cleaning up the wire chase going up through the roof into the radar arch and putting a pull cord in there for any future wire runs.

Well, didn't make it today as my boat transport driver is still in France - however he has said tomorrow he will be collecting her.

I bet it rains tomorrow!

Just want to second Robs comment. With the arch off it's just a matter of minutes to cleanup and enlarge the opening in the base of the arch supports to make future wire runs SO much easier.

I can't find the pictures I took of mine when I did it, but a hole saw, a block of wood to guide it, and some good clamps and you can easily enlarge the passages on both ends of both tubes. I highly recommend you consider it.

Best of luck getting her all set and launched. I'm looking forward to hearing about your (hopefully sunny!) trips.

I shall certainly look at opening the wire run holes up - shes currently got a Raymarine Pathfinder SL70 radar on her that will be coming off later today and being replaced with a nice shiny C90w with HD digital radar and AIS.

4 hours till landing!
