On the way back from St. Michaels on Monday Miles River and Eastern Bay were clear. From Bloody Point to Annapolis there were scattered pieces of debris. Some of the debris has become sufficiently waterlogged to be floating just at the surface or just below. Very hard to see. I hit one tree branch about 10 feet long. Never saw it until it came out the stern. I was going slow all the way (7.5 kts) so it bounce off the hull and skeg. Would have hated to hit that at 15 kts.
Bottom line- be cautious, go slow, and keep a sharp lookout. It's improving rapidly, but not quite clear yet. Should be better yet by this weekend. Looks like another weekend of going slow for me. Just to be sure.

Over? It's not over until we say it's over! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? My season is over and I had to have the boat pulled this week.
Carl - John will take care of the fishing. If you and Laurel need a cruising "fix", give me a call.
Friday is looking good. We're thinking of taking the day and cruise to Annapolis for lunch.

Debris was minimal today. I saw a few logs in the shipping channel on the east side of Pooles Island. Nothing on the west side.
