Splash this morning! I must admit just cruising from one side of the marina to my slip was tough. The Bay was flat and kept calling me. But, so were clients. :( Now, it's off to work.
I'll post a final update to my wet sanding project later.

Saturday will be our 2009 maiden voyage. Supposed to be a beautiful day.

Cut off the shrinkwrap Thursday; de-winterized, started the engine and did some interior cleaning Friday and today we head out to the Bay Day event at the St. Michaels Maritime Museum. Still have to clean and wax the hull but can do that a little at a time (Wye Dream is on a lift and I have a small floating dock that I built a couple of years ago that makes it very easy to access the complete hull). Let the Season Begin!

She's wet! Last weekend was the maiden voyage. Only a few small glitches, fuel guage, autopilot compas malfunctioning but thats about it. Boat has cleaned up well and is really taking shape. Next weekend we try to catch some big rockfish.

Looks like today, April 24th will be splash day for Time After Time. Bottom got painted yesterday, zincs today, and off she goes! The weather here is beautiful and predicted to hit 80 over the weekend. Now if the fish would arrive we'll be ready for a new season!

Be happy your boat was not in the slings when it broke.
That happened to a friend of mine about 15 years ago (in Westerly)...he was in his 34 Mainship and into the ways when the clutch on the lift went. The safety brake was inoperable at the time so there was no way to stop it from letting the boat fall. The boat went down and a piling stuck up thru the bow, the big pipe on the lift that holds the straps crashed down thru all the stanchions and obliterated the gunnel on one side. My friend went on his kester but luckily was not injured.
The marina tried to NOT pay saying it was "an act of god", believe it or not. My frind hamdto get a lawyer and fight. It was because my friend knew that the safety brake wasn't operable that the marina had to pay. It was a big hassle for him and cost him many weeks of the season...first to fight for payment and second to do all the work.

Splashed last Saturday!

Besides regular maintenance and detailing, it has a new 4D house battery and shower sump pump. (battery lasted way longer than it should of  )
It's riding nice. Gotta put all the necessary gear back on board this weekend.
