I believe it is, Ulf. We are in the final stretch of the sale.
Texts back and forth. Viewing and test run. A solid handshake. All looks good.
My son and I hauled her out on the trailer today to prep her for transport.
Buyer is coming this Saturday to finalize the transaction and off she will go to Massachusetts.
Super nice couple. I’m sure they will put lots of nautical miles under her hull. I’m very happy about that.

Re: Today is a bittersweet day - my Albin’s for sale
Thanks for the compliment, Ulf. I did my best. Glad it shows.
When I buy a used boat, the first thing I do is look to see what it needs. This boat needed a lot! But that can be a good thing. I would take care of the needs and in the end it would be the better for it. In this case, she ended up practically being a new boat!
I cringe when I see rusty paperclips instead of stainless steel cotter pins. Or any metal not stainless or bronze on a boat, except for the engine bits. Yes, there are exceptions, but rare.
One thing I found out is that Albins have good bones. The rest I can fix.
Ya know, contrary to the old saying, good things also come in 3’s. I had 3 Donzis once. Later on I had an Albin 27FC, then an Albin 25 deLuxe. Hmmm…
[inner voice:] Focus, Jon! First, get your daughter married and living happily ever after.
Then can we talk?
Hey! Where did you go?! Come back!

Re: Today is a bittersweet day - my Albin’s for sale
Assuming the deal goes through as planned congrats are in order, even though as you say it's a bitter sweet moment. Good times and new chapters of life lie ahead, especially when a new grandchild arrives. I hope you did as we did, kept a cruising log journal of all your days out on the boat, not to mention 100s of photos. Those will bring back cherished memories for as long as you live. From the first entry in Log Book #1 on June 22, 2014 to the final entry on April 30, 2024 on page 26 a third of the way through Evergreen Pacific log book #3 we kept a descriptive Daily Cruising Log record of every single day we ever spent out on the water aboard La Dolce Vita regardless of whether it was a short day trip of a few hours, an overnight weekend on our local lake, or various other extended cruises like the time we first met up with Ulf and Elizabeth, aka Tribologist, in Middleport, NY on the Erie Canal on August 9, 2021. Gosh, was that four years ago already?
