Towing weight on my rig with an aluminum trailer and some gear & fuel aboard plus a 70 lb dinghy hanging off the stern was 6,058 lbs as measured on a truck scale. A 6,000 lb GVWR trailer is barely adequate capacity. You'll have to guess on the difference in weight between a galvanized steel trailer vs equivalent aluminum, but it's probably not all that much.

Axles come in standard sizes. Dual 3500lb would be sufficient. Next common size is 5200 lb. Avoid welded aluminium trailers. Do a search on what DA had to go through... a steal or aluminum trailer should weigh about the same. There is a good fundamental reason Aluminum, titanium and steel bikes co-exists. The trailer is not going to be designed for strength but for rigidity. Youngs modulus/density is about the same. Now a Titanium trailer would do great in saltwater...

I prefer unobtainium for all my trailer needs. Just like my motorcycles.
