Bilge Pump(s)???

Post by Wilkie »

We purchased a 1998 Albin 28n this past Summer!!! There are a mid and forward pump installed (none on Automatic)!!! I think there is wiring Aft for another pump (am I correct)? Over this Winter I would like to get the proper pump(s) installed!!!

Any suggestions would be appreciated...

Our 99 had the mid pump that had a separate switch as it was the diaphragm pump (not a pump with built in switch). The wiring was there to add the stern pump and I did.

Mike,

Appreciate your reply!! Yes, my mid pump is a diaphragm pump with a switch on the dashboard!!! I also have a pump forard the that (in the main cabin) which is not automatic!! I plan to make it automatic!! I will also install a pump in the aft. Except for the diaphragm pump are you others automatic as well as manual?

Yes I set them up that way. The wiring should be there. Three wires. One from the fuse for each pump switch that goes automatic via the float position. One from the manual position that goes between the pump and float for manual control (bypassing the float) and the ground.
